Glè mhath - am impressed! :moladh:

You can refer to what the the weather/day is like as 'e' or 'i' - regional / personal preference.

'i' = 'she' (the word for weather - an t-sìde - is feminine), 'e' is either the masculine 'an latha' (day) or an impersonal 'it'.

There is no "it" in Gaelic, so you always have to pick "he" or "she". Just like in the Romance languages, if you speak any.

Thanks!

And no, I had one year of Spanish in school, enough to where what you say makes sense.

And, as so often in other languages too, it seems the default is often "he", so you often find "e" for a vague "it", where there is no immediately obvious /pre-mentioned noun.

Tha an aimsir air leth math an-diugh, tioram agus soilleir. Tha a' ghrian a' deàrrsadh anns an speur, ach chan eil e ro theth. 'S e latha brèagha samhraidh a th' ann.

Tha gaoth socair a' seideadh agus tha na craobhan a' crathadh beagan. Chan eil an dath air nan duilleagan ag atharrachadh fhathast, ach a dh'aithghearr gu mì-fhortanach.

Tha mi nam shuidhe ri taobh na h-uinneig anns a' chidsin, a' sealltain a-mach air an lochan. Tha e samhach air an lochan sa mhadainn an-diugh. Chan eil a' chlann a' chluich anns an uisge sna laithean seo. Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gun do thoisich a' chuid mhòr de na sgoiltean am bliadhna ùr. Nuair a bha mi nam bhalach, b' àbhaist dhan na sgoiltean a bhith a' toiseachadh anns an t-Sultain.

Tha mo bhean na suidhe mu mo choinneimh air a' bhòrd. Tha aice ri obair beagan air a' choimpiutair. Tha mi an dòchas gum bi sinn a' dol cuairt faisg air an lochan. 'S fior thoigh leinn a bhith a' coiseach, gu h-àraid leis a' chù againn, nuair a tha an t-sìde cho snog mar seo.

Leis gu bheil an aimsir cho snog faodadh sinn (a bheil seo ceart?) a dhol timeachall na sgìre anns a' chàr uair neo dhà gus na beanntan agus na coilltean fhaicinn.

--------------------------

The weather is really good today, dry and clear. The sun is shining in the sky, but it is not too hot. It's a beautiful summer day.

A gentle wind is blowing and the trees are shaking a bit. The color of the leaves is not changing yet, but soon unfortunately.

I am sitting by the window in the kitchen, looking out at the pond. It is quiet on the pond today. The children are not playing in the water these days. I think the majority of schools have started the new year. When I was a boy the schools used to start in September.

My wife is sitting opposite me at the table. She has to work a bit on the computer. I hope that we go for a walk near the pond. We really like walking, especially with our dog, when the weather is nice like this.

With the weather so nice we might (is this correct?) go around the area in the car for an hour or two to see te hills and forests.

Tha uine mhòr bhon a sgrìobh mi rudeigin an-seo, agus chan eil mi toilichte le sin. Ma tha mi ag iarraidh mo chuid Gàidhlig a' leasachadh, feumaidh mi a chleachdadh.
Uill, tha an t-uisge ann an-diugh. Tha an t-uisge trom fad an latha, agus tha an droch shìde a' leantainn air an fheasgar.
Cha toigh leis a'chù a bhith a' dol a-mach, ach feumaidh sinn...

It has been along time since I have written something here, and I am not happy with that. If I want to improve my Gaelic, then I must use it.
Well, it is raining today. There has been heavy rain all day, and the bad weather is continuing into the evening.
The dog doesn't like going out, but we have to...

Yesterday, it was raining and sunny at the same time

(feumaidh mi a cleachdadh. - Gàidhlig is feminine.)

Feasgar math, A GhunChleoc:

Mòran taing airson "fàilte air ais".
An t-uisge agus a' ghrian aig an aon àm - gle inntinneach!

Bha measgachadh de shìde ann an-seo an-diugh, griannach aig amanan agus frasan aig amanan, ach chan eil aig an aon àm!
Thadhal ar "grand-daughter" na bu thraithe an-diugh. Tha i tri blidhna a dh' aois. Bha an dithis againn a' cluich a-muigh eadar na frasan.

-----------------

Goo evening GunCleoc,

Thank for the "welcome back".
Rain and sun at the same time - very interesting.

There was a mix of weather here today, sunny at times and showers at times, but not at the same time!
Our grand-daughter visited earlier today. She is three years old. We played outside between showers.

Madain mhath a h-uile duine.

Thoisich an latha le speur soilleir agus a' ghrian a' deàrrsadh anns an speur! Tha mi an dòchas gum bi an deagh shìde a' leantainn tron latha.

Ciamar a tha an t-sìde far a bheil sibhse?

---------------

Good morning everyone.

The day started with a clear sky and the sun shining in the sky! I hope the good weather continues through the day.
