'Offices, shops, a nursery and an arts venue - which would all be Gaelic-centred - could be built in Culduthel as part of an ambitious plans to create a dedicated "hub" for the language in Inverness.
An empty field beside the city's only all-Gaelic school has been earmarked for the development and consultants are now investigating whether it is feasable before concrete plans are drawn up.
The proposals are due to be discussed by Highland Council's Gaelic committee today.
...
City-based consultants Synergie Scotland will investigate whether the development would be financially viable and what funding could be available over the next two months.
Bòrd spokesman Hugh Dan MacLennan said it was paying the cost of the the Synergie study which was under £10,000.
Chan eil sin ri fhaighinn air loidhne fhathast. Mar a thuirt mi roimhe bu toil leam rudeigin fhaicinn ann an teas meadhan a' bhaile (feumaidh car a bhith agad a' dol dhan àite seo) ach nan robh a h-uile càil faisg air an sgoil bhiodh fada na b'fheàrr na ri taobh na toglaichean ura a tha air faire airson Oilthigh na Gàidhealtachd aig Beechwood. (tha mòran a' gearrain gur e 'dry academic exercise' a th'anns a' Ghàidhlig). Aig Bun-Sgoil Inbhir Nis bhiodh moran parantan a' dol ann dà thuras gach latha co-dhiù, cothrom dhaibh cupa cofaidh fhaighinn no classaichean gàidhlig, leabhraichean a cheannaich, msaa.
Tha mi a' tuigsinn carson a tha am Bòrd a' dol do na consultatants gus fiosrachadh faighainn a mach mu maoineachadh ach mura a bhiodh a leithid seo tarraingeachd do na Gàidheal agus luchd-ionnsachaidh nach bu chòir fios a bhiodh aig a' bhòrd mu thràth?
Gur a math a thèid leis.
