It is nice to see Gaelic being acknowledged and appreciated for onceSix months and $258,750 later, here's Scotland's new slogan
In Gaelic, it's "Failte gu Alba." Rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?
The Times of London reports today that Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond's administration spent 125,000 pounds -- about $258,750 -- and hired an ad agency to work for six months on the "exciting new slogan."
"Set to run at six airports in Scotland, the greeting is accompanied by a series of images of Scottish life," the Times reports. We hope those images are really nice for the money, because the English tr*nsl*t**n of the slogan is:
"WELCOME TO SCOTLAND."

What do you think? Should it have been "Ceud mìle fàilte!" instead?
