Chuala mi air RnG gu robh ùidh aig an duine ud ann an Gàidhlig agus seo duilleag a tha ri fhaichinn air an làrach ris an canar American Memory.

Chan urrainn dhut a h-uile càil a leughadh gu soilleir ach seo dà phìos inntinneach:
‘I am not afraid to ***? That I think that this rude bard of the North the greatest poet that ever existed, merely for the pleasure of reading his works I am become desirous of learning (the language?)…
I further beg the favour of you to give me a catalogue of books written in that language and to send me such of them as may be necessary for learning it.
