GG a-mach air mobheurla.com a-nis
'In GG’s humble opinion, it’s about more than a lack of demand.
It’s about plain common sense. This new website came out of nowhere. None of the many people using Gaelic constructively on the web were consulted. The people who authorised it clearly had no understanding of social media, and the people who built appear to have had no idea about Gaelic.
Therein lies a recipe for disaster.
Gaelic speakers were already using Abairthusa, Facebook and Twitter.
They were using these services in gaelic, a fact which went totally over the heads of mygaelic.com and BnaG
£250k (even if it did include marketing) is an excruciating amount of money to pay for a website which cannot integrate with ANY OTHER social media website
The navigation is appalling
The design doesn’t exactly break new ground
The site provides nothing new, nor does it provide anything which cannot be found out else where, more easily
Friend-finder, status updates etc are are badly designed and not a patch on Facebook et al
It is difficult to use and has fostered so little interaction that it is surprising it has taken this long to be slammed '
