I acknowledge receipt of your representation in response to the Commission’s Initial Proposals on UK Parliament constituencies. The Commission will consider your representation.

With regards to your point about our website not having a ‘Gaelic’ button, the Boundary Commission for Scotland is a small Non Departmental Public Body that operates with a limited annual budget. Our website is funded from our budget and we have to consider how efficiently and effectively we spend this money. We currently judge that creating and maintaining Gaelic content on our website would not be an effective use of resources.

The Parliamentary Boundary Commission for Wales is an advisory Non-Departmental Public Body funded by the Cabinet Office. The Commission are required by the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986 (as amended) to periodically conduct a general review of all constituencies in Wales at the same time and submit to the Secretary of State a report showing the constituencies they recommend.
