"A FURIOUS Big County mum yesterday slammed council bosses for bucking a national trend by refusing to provide financial assistance for her daughter’s school trips.
Georgina Farron (37) believes Perth and Kinross Council should offer support for the 44-mile round-trips to take her five-year-old Eliza from the family home in Blair Atholl to Aberfeldy’s Breadalbane Academy – the closest school offering Gaelic medium education (GME).
Mrs Farron, a poet and artist, and husband Brian (55), an assistant manager at a local quarry, are struggling to fund the costly trip due to spiralling fuel prices."
