Grammar Issue
Grammar Issue
First off - let me apologize for the novice question. I am an American, so there is a bit of a learning curve.
I am buying a Irish Pub and wanting to rename it to "Bad Wolf". I have a couple Irish friends and there has been so debate on the correct tr*nsl*t**n.
Mac Tíre Dona
Mac Tíre Olc
Droch Mactíre
Could anyone weigh in on which should be used and if they are all grammatically correct?

Re: Grammar Issue
I would suggest that if you want a tr*nsl*t**n in Spanish, you shouldn't ask on an Italian forum, and similarly, if you want a tr*nsl*t**n in Irish, you shouldn't ask on a Scottish Gaelic forum.

Re: Grammar Issue
What Niall Beag says is absolutely sound. However, I'm intrigued: what's the present name of this "teach tábhairne"? Have you, indeed, thought of the possible loss of custom that might occur when the locals find their "local" has changed its name (in any language)? Is there any specific meaning - apart from the obvious, a wolf that is "bad" - attached in your mind to "Bad Wolf"? Such attempts as you've thus far offered up suggest maybe a person rather than an animal (lit. "son of the land" or similar).

If he is, surely the important question is whether he loves a certain assistant or hates her...?GunChleoc wrote:Maybe he's a Doctor Who fan, but then he should call it Blaidd Drwg

Jiw jiw, Gunnaidh-pws, sylwais i ddim fod ti'n medru Cymraeg - cha robh fios agam gun robh Cuimris agad. Chan eil mi eòlach air na tha a' tachairt ann an saoghal Dr. Who an-dràsta: cò am madadh-allaidh dona? A bheil na daolagan ann a-rithist? A bheil thu eòlach air an taigh-òsta "Y Thlawen Faedd" ("An Sona Thorc") a lorgar san leabhar "Asterix ym Mhrydain"?

Re: Grammar Issue
Chan eil Cuimris agam idir, nochdaidh e sa phrògram fhèin sa Chuimris. "Boomtown" a chaidh a chraoladh ann an 2005 cha chreid is far a bheil iad ann an Caerdydd.
