1. na cloinne, because it's a mass noun and doesn't have a plural

Adding the article would be wrong in this case though, becaise it's not the books belonging to specific children, but children's books in general.

Your hunch to add an article is not a bad one though, because Gaelic uses it more often. So, "Latha eadar-nàiseanta nan leabhraichean-cloinne" should work too.
