'marag dhubh' no 'marag dubh'?

My understanding of the grammar rules,
and the dictionaries, tell me it should be 'marag (f) d
Hubh', but I see 'marag dubh' a lot.
Is the lenition being (selectively) blocked?
Obviously -g and dh- are articulated quite near each other, I'm not sure that's going to block lenition though — is just that people find it easier to articulate unlenited 'dubh' after -g, so are reasonably dropping it? Or is it an error that's become stuck.

A cursory google search suggests that most of the incidents of marag dubh are by English speakers/writers. There is nothing in the sound or grammar rules of Gaelic that would suggest marag dubh is right in Gaelic. English of course is a case of
make it up as you go along, so anything goes really

There is quite a bit of discussion going on about how to form compound nouns. I like to inflect (= apply cases) to the adjectives in noun-adjective combinations whenever they come with a hyphen.
Seo a' mharag-dhubh
Dh'ith mi pìosan na maraige-duibhe
Tha min-choirce anns a' mharaig-dhuibh (seann-nòsach) no anns a' mharag-dhubh (ùr-nòsach)
Dh'ith mi uighean le maraig-dhuibh (seann-nòsach) no le marag-dhubh (ùr-nòsach)
