Condolences

Unread post by IainMacanSpraff »

A relative of a friend of mine has died recently and I'd like to wish him my condolences in Gaelic. I can't seem to find any phrases for this on the internet though. Any help would be appreciated.

Condolences

Some search results from http://www.faclair.com/:

tha co-fhaireachdainn agam riut
1 I feel for you, I sympathise with you 2 my condolences

tha mo cho-bhròn dhut 's do mhàthair air caochladh
I'm sorry for your loss, I'm sorry your mother has died

nas duilghe na ghabhas cur ann an cainnt
more sorry than I can say

Let us know which phrase you prefer, and which type of relative, and we can adjust it for you. Gaelic tends to be a bit more exact than English here, so e.g. for an uncle, we would need to know if he's on your friend's father's or mother's side. If you don't want to post this publicly, feel free to PM me.
