Ahha - glè mhath. I must try and emphasis my awarenes the "be-ness" of what is being said when I hear "air". My mind is full of the verbal noun bit

Consider also English, where you can do a similar "no yes/no" thing.
Have you read the book? I have.
Were you reading the book? I was.
Did you read the book? I did.
It's always that first thing that matters.
