Dear members of Fòram na Gàidhlig,
I should have introduced myself before writing a post, please excuse me if I'm doing things in the wrong order.
I'm French and I live in Paris. I'm specialized in the Arabic language, but with a keen interest in folk music from France, the British Iles and elsewhere. When I was 20 I started to learn Gaelic because I loved the waulking songs on the discs from the "Scottish tradition series". Life then took me to other countries with other languages, and my Gaelic remained at beginner level (though I can still sing a couple of songs in Gaelic). I don't think I'll ever have the opportunity to really practice Gaelic in everyday life, but I get shivers down my spine every time I hear Gaelic sung and... well I just love learning new songs to sing while digging my garden.
I love diabolical phonologies too, and Gaelic is definitely one of the nicest. I was delighted to discover Akerbeltz's website and tips, and some knowledge of the language is certainly something I'd like to develop.
