Hello all!

Unread post by Purple »

Hey everyone!

I'm a 28 year old Canadian gal who spent two years living in Scotland and now I'm in Ireland. I'm desperately missing Scotland and can't wait to move back one day and settle there. I thought learning Gàidhlig would be a great way for me to still feel connected to Scotland.

I look forward to chatting to you all!

Agus fàilte bhuamsa cuideachd! :-)

How are you learning (or planning to)?

The new Duolingo course? (See thread here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3328&p=23981#p23981 )

There are useful reviews of online courses here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3325,
and more useful learners' experiences and tips in that Lessons section too.

And of course our Goireasan section: https://www.foramnagaidhlig.net/index.php?page=4

Thanks everyone :)

I've mostly been using learngaelic.net and an app that teaches basic phrases. I've been trying it out on Duolingo which has been really helpful for learning new vocab! I've also been listening to songs and videos when I can find them to get used to the sounds (and hey, I even occasionally pick out a word or two!).

Thanks for the resources.
