We are hopefully moving to the western isles to retire but have a few years to go yet. In the meantime we are preparing and one of those things is we would like to learn gaelic. Is there a big difference in the regions as to the gaelic spoken? We have started using the online courses but don't want to learn the wrong one. I'm hoping it's just a few pronunciations that are different.

The differences are pretty minor, all in. Some modifications of accent, the odd word here and there, and some differences in turn of phrase. But whatever you learn and wherever you end up, you're going to have to adapt. Nothing too serious, though, and the underlying heart of the language is almost exactly the same.
