Halò, is mise Seanadh.

Unread post by getracey »

Halò, is mise Seamas. Tha mi a fuireach ann an Cuimrigh, agus tha mi a' ionnsachadh Gàidhlig.

Hello, I am James. I live in Wales and àm trying to learn Gaelic. I have made several on off attempts over the years, and am currently using the duolingo app. I know it is has recieved some criticism on here, and with some justification, but it happens to be the most convienient way for me an-dràsta. There won't be many chances for conversation here, but I would love to be able to listen to Radio nan Gàidheal and understand more of what is being said, or watch BBC Alba without subtitles.
Tìoraidh an-dràsta

Chan eil mi Seanadh, is mise Seamas! Tha 'autocorrect' cho droil!
I'm not a big fan òr grammer but Duolingo is leaving some gaps in my learning, such as when to use an,am or a'. Lenition is not a complete surprise to me, as I am a Welsh speaker, but it just appear on Duolingo with no explanation. However it does suit me at the moment as I can use it at work (in my dinner break of course🍽️). So I need to look at the Goireasan section and Learngselic is an amazing resource too.
