Pàipear-deuchainn (Exam papers)

Unread post by *Alasdair* »

Ann an 1990 bha iad doirbh le ceistean fada is mionaideach aice - airidh naochad comharradhean. A-nis, tha iad glè fhurasta le "tick the box" agus ceistean glè ghiorid* airidh a-mhàin ceathrad no caogad comharradhean!
*"What did Anna say? Tick the right box."
"Fàilte": "Welcome, Hello, Goodbye"

Tha sin "Bun Ìre".
Bha "Sàr Ìre" ceistean glè fhada agus diorbh aice. A-nis?

"Where did Iain go on holiday?"
"Bha Iain ann an Spàinn airson dha sheachdain."

Smaoinichidh mi gu bheil tha i brònach! Bha iad doirbh is dùbhlanach, ach a-nise tha iad abhcaid!

Mo charaid gun Gàidhlig faod dèan iad!
In 1990 they had hard and detailed questions - worth 90 marks. Now they are very easywith "tick the box" and very short questions worth only 40 or 50 marks.
...............
That is Foundation level.
Credit level had very hard long questions. Now?
...............
I think it is deplorable! They were hard and challenging, but now they are a joke!

My friend with no gaelic can do them!

Tha cuimhne agam air sin. Nuair a bha mi san àrd-sgoil bha mi fhìn 's mo charaid Mata a' dèanamh Credit agus an uair sin rinn sinn Gàidhlig aig an àrd ìre. Bha na deuchainnean aig na h-ìrean sin cho furasta gun d'rinn sinn càsaid dhan SQA ach a-rèir coltas cha do dh'èist iad.

I remember that. When I was at school, my friend Matthew and I did Credit and then did Higher Gaelic. The exams a tha those levels were so easy we made a complaint to the SQA but looks like they didn't listen.

Tha deuchainnean anns a-huile rud a' fàs nas furasta, the mise a' smaoineachadh. An làithean a tha seo tha tòrr dhuine a' faighinn rudan coltach ri A-A-A-A anns na deuchainnean agus chan eil mi a' creidsinn gu bheil seo airson na luchd-teagaisg no na sgoilearan a' fàs nas fheàrr na bha iad.

Exams in every thing are becoming easier, I am thinking. These days now loads of folk are gettings things like A-A-A-A in the exams and I'm not believing that this is because of teachers or pupils becoming better than they were.

Smaoinich mi tha Àrd-Ìrean diorbh ann an beurla agus matamataigs, ach ann an cànanean (Gàidhlig, Fraingis, Spàinnis) bha iad furasta - Uill, chan eil furasta ach chan eil dùbhlanachd...
I thought Highers were hard in English in maths, but in languages (Gaelic, French, Spanish) they were easy. Well, not easy but not challenging...

"Smaoinich" is past tense (or imperative/order -- Think!), and tha should be "gu bheil" (I think that it is harder.).

Try Smaoinichidh mi gu bheil or even better Cha chreid mi nach eil

Thuit mi Foundation Leugadh aig pleidhe mòr agus General Leugadh an-dràsta. Tha thu ceart, tha iad gu lèir socair ... Thig mise iad! Bith mi a' dèan a' sgriobadh a-màireach. :D

eg. Anna starts her letter with a question.
Ciamar a tha thu?

What does this mean? Tick the box.
How are you? [ ]
What's doing? [ ]

I did Foundation Reading at lunch and General Reading just now. You are right, they are quite easy ... I understood them! I will do writing tomorrow.

Glè mhath! A bheil iad bho sgoil? Tha Foundation 2007 agam cuideachd! Tha i glè fhurasta! Tha i brònach.
Very good! Are they from school? I have F 2007 too. They are very easy! it is deplorable.

Ceist a dhà:

Anna tells where she went on holiday.
Bha mi anns an Fhraing.
Where was she? France, Holland or Germany.

Tha General furasta cuideachd.

Leughadh 2003 ceist a h-aon
:
What is Jane's surname?
Is mise Sine NicDhòmhnaill.

Agus, ann an Credit...

How long did it take Calum to read the novel?
Leugh mi an leabhar, "Turas air Bàta Thormoid" ann am mìos.

A bheil iad doirbh. Chan eil. Tha iad cho fhurasta!

An-Seo

An-dè, thuit mo bhana-chairaid e GCSE Franglis a' leugadh. Bha e glè doirbh - cha do i a' tuigsinn e. :?

Agus mòran taing, GunCheloc. :D

They weren't from my school - They don't know what Gaelic is!They are online. Yesterday, my friend did her GCSE French reading. It was very hard - she couldn't understand it.

A Mhelen-ceitidh, càit' a bheil thu a' fuireach? Sgrìobh thu "Cha tuig iad dè Gàidhlig tha!" airson do sgoil. ('S dòcha gum b'fheàrr "Chan eil iad a' tuigsinn dè Gàidhlig", ach na gabh dragh - chan eil mi expert!). Tha mac agam, 10 bliadhna -> 1 bhliadhna deug, a bhios a' dol dhan àrd-sgoil ann an 2009. Tha sinn a' fuireach ann am Fìobha. Chan eil sgoil sam bith ann am Fìobha a bhios a' dèanamh G[/quote]àidhlig agus tha mi a' smaoineachadh gur e uabhasach seo.

Yellow-KT, where are you staying? You wrote "They dinnae ken whit Gaelic is"... I've got a son, 10 -> 11 year old, who'll be ganning to high school in 2009. We're staying in Fife. There's no school at all in Fife as does Gaelic an I reckon this is not at all sporting, what.
