I can see this type post becoming a series all on its own. I picked up a word from context but I'm not sure how to spell it or its exact meaning. I took it to mean "bother" at the time but that was a couple of weeks ago. Can you confirm its spelling an meaning? The word is "bon".

What's your Gaelic for these English words?

stubble, stubbly - I've never had a word for this though biorach comes to mind.
gums (in your mouth) - I believe I have bann or bonn/buin for this but from where and when I cannot tell you.

bon -> bean?

I've seen broth feusag and brothach both for stubble and stubbly respectively but I've never heard them in speech. I'd use them for "broken out" or "rash" which makes some peripheral sense I suppose.

GunChleoc thanks mate I've heard gàilleach before. Giorrach/biorrach is what I've been using because made most sense without having heard the subject talked about in speech.
