I'm listening to music - Runrig and Altan and drinking coffee.

I'm pleased to be part of this forum and hope people on here will help me with my Gaelic if they can.

By chance, I'm listening to Runrig too! I have the new DVD and I can't stop listening to it!

Bha agus mise an-raoir, ach 's e Day of Days a bh' ann. Dhìochuimhnich mi nach do phàigh mi cunntas a' chredit card agam agus tha mi a' feitheamh ri leth-bhreac na DVD ùr fhathast.

I did too last night, but to Day of Days. I had forgotten that I hadn't paid my creditcard bill and now I'm still waiting for a copy of the new DVD.

What Seonaidh said on the other thread, always add the a' / ag before the verbal noun


@ Cheitidh: tha mi a' fuireach anns an / tha mi a' fuireach ann an, depending on whether the place name has an article

Tha mi a' fuireach anns a' Ghearmailt, ach tha thu a' fuireach ann an Sassainn.

I knew I had made a mistake or two but couldnt think of where I had made them.

Feel free to carry on correcting me because I need help when I'm writing in Gàidhlig, I keep on making mistakes now and then.

Hello. I am well thank you. How are you yourself today.

Sorry about my lack of conversation tonight but I'm really tired and cannot think of what to say. I'm getting really annoyed with myself because my Gàidhlig is sadly lacking some practice in real face to face conversation and written form. I will persevere no matter what.

Can I ask you, What is the Gàidhlig for "Welcome to our home" because I'm making a sign for the house and I want to greet friends etc in Gàidhlig.

To say "I have", "I've got" etc. in Gaelic, one usually says something like "There is .... at me". For instance, "I have work" could be "Tha obair agam". Or you could say "Tha mi ag obair" (I'm working).

Teacher - tidsear, neach-teagaisg
Clerk - clèireach
MSP - BPA (Ball Pàrlamaid na h-Alba)
Officer - oifigear
Secretary - runaire (!) (B' fheàrr leamsa "neach-sgrìobhadh"...)
Manager - manaidsear
Driver - dràibhear

If you want to say goodbye to more than one person, it's "mar sin leibh". an-dràsta has a long "à".
