Probably more "proper" would be fosgailte. Quite often the "e" is dropped (I'm not quite sure of the rule) but then it's normally denoted with an apostrophe: fosgailt'.

Ò aidh, only use -(a)idh when talking about the future.

Tha iad a' bàsachadh but Bàsach(a)idh iad.

Also, only use -(a)idh when you do not use Bidh..., because if you did it would mean "(We) will be will be (dying)".

As for the days, you don't need to say "On... " literally - Just stick the day down:

Diluain, chaidh mi dhan bhùth - On Monday i went to the shop.

If I'm not mistaken, "an doras" becomes "an dorais" after the verbal noun. (a' fosgladh). This is because the noun is in the possessive case. It only happens when the noun is definite.

So..Tha mi a' fosgladh an dorais.
Bidh mi a' fosgladh an dorais.

Perhaps you are thinking of a verb like "freagair"?

That would be "Fhreagrainn" and not "Dh'fhreagrainn", but I think it's to do with ease of pronunciation and nothing else.

Try saying "Dh'fhreagrainn"!

So, fàg is also "Dh' fhàgainn", "Dh'fhàgadh" etc.

And it makes perfect sense: you don't pronounce fh, so if you have a vowel after that you add the dh'. I had forgotten you add a dh' before a vowel.

personally i think the genetive should be completely ignored in sentences like this until you're capable of speaking confidently and comfortably. it doesn't aid understanding, and it just slows you down and makes you stop and think more - that isn't language, that is reciting grammar.
not to mention the fact that nobody says "tha mi ag òl an dibhe", and that you're less likely to be understood were you to.

even worse is the people who say "tha mi a' dèanamh obrach"
