Is Cli Gaidhlig membership worth £20?

Here's something I wrote as a sort of a comment on a comment of a comment today - well part of a comment that caught my attention on Lisota B:

'How many here are members of Clì Gàidhlig for example? '

My comment:

A few I should imagine. Cli bills itself as 'The voice of Gaelic learners', well it is here on liosta B and in a few other places on-line that you can read, hear or watch, 'The voices of Gaelic learners'
It would cost me £20 to join Cli again but I'm sorry Daibhidh I just don't think it is worth it. If cli provided facilities for conversation and debate and Gaelic blogging on its site and encouraged those more proficient in Gaelic amongst the membership to help others along the way with the IT resources that are now available - just like learners are doing anyway in various places around the net, then I would join. If Cli integrated the likes of abair thusa into its site then I think that would be a great first move. http://abairthusa.ning.com/
Cothrom is a great magazine yes but I now prefer Gaelic only texts and the Nairn library subscribes to the Magazine anyway. So if I want to spend £20 on Gaelic then personally I'm better off going to the Comhairle nan Leabhraichean site - anything else I want seems to be the things that Cli are not providing and are available for free on-line anyway. Cli has a lot of talented people in the membership, their skills could be put to use.
