The new sign for "Scottish Executive" is to be in Gaelic as well. The new slogan will be:

"Scottish Executive: Riaghaltas na h-Alba"

This has been met with much opposition from Labour parties and others, claiming that Scotland want to get away from the rest of Britain and strive for independance.

One sign can show all that?

Also note the many, many, many Anti-Gaelic comments :evil:

IMO, it is a good thing as i was saddened to see they had removed the Gaelic, but now i see they were just getting ready to put it back on

Thanks for the information. I don't understand how and why a country is managing to push down ("push down" : is this correct in english ?) one of its strongest heritage. But this "Riaghaltas na h-Alba" is a (little) step. Glè mhath

Having a go at Gaelic is an industry in itself. Of all the problems in the world it is incredible that some people devote so much time, (perhaps even their entire lives in some cases) to trying to do down one of the indigenous languages of Scotland. How perfect the world would be if only we could get rid of Gaelic? Gaelic obviously more danger to the world than nuclear weapons. George Bush and Gordon Brown should forget about Iran and North korea and concentrate on Alex Salmond's bilingual signs before it is too late. Stop gaelic now or we are all dooooomed Capt Mannering!

As for A Labour spokeswoman said: "Name changes are not the important things for the people of Scotland. To be obsessed with things like this is crazy."
Well what arrogance that displays, people like that need to wake up and realise that the voters have kicked them out because of stone-age attitudes like that.
