Fòram na Gàidhlig

Hello!

I am sorry to write in English but I have just started learnng Gaelic and my knowledge definitely isn't enough to ask my question in Gaelic.
I was just wondering where you are all from and where you learned Gaelic?

I am half german/half-french. My interest in gaelic came with my love for Scotland. I am there at least 3/4 times a year. Last time I was on Arran and than around the Loch Lomond. Next destination are the Outer Hebrides.

I intend to move to scotland some day but at the moment I am in England.
Anyway I hope asking my question in English is ok (yes I admit I haven't read the forum rules yet).

I'm in Germany and I have learned for the most part on-line and with books. I did two weekend courses in Bonn and now I'm doing a long-distance course with the SMO.

I practiced the pronunciation first, and then I went on to posting on a forum. Writing one sentence a day will make you go far!

Hi Sha! I also live in England. I'm learning Gaelic online and with books. I can't go to the SMO yet because I'm too young. I was born in Northampton but my Mum's Scottish and my Great-Grandad spoke Gaelic.
I went to the Outer Hebrides 1 1/2 years ago and the trip was great. It was just the weather ...

I'm from near Stirling. It's in the middle of Scotland, right next to the Highland line, but I've been living in Edinburgh for years now.

I went to the Sabhal Mór Ostaig during my holidays for a few years running, and in between I learned from books, practising at a weekly learners' meeting and on the internet.

Lately I've been a bit slack, and while I can blether with the best of them after a few whiskies, I have a massive mental block when it comes to writing. Every time I try to do something about it, something comes up that drags me off to another language: Spanish essays, Spanish exams, Italian girlfried; imminent overseas holiday.

Next year I'll have to make more time for solid Gaelic usage, so I think I'll go to Ceòlas.

Hello, i am from Nova Scotia, Canada. I learned Gaighlig at university, but there aren't alot of courses at my university. I hope to learn gaelic on the Forum. You are welcome to correct my gaelic!

Tha sibh failte gu cuir ceart mo ghadhlig! - You don't say it like that, but how do you say it?

BTW if you don't have accents on your keyboard you can just click the buttons or use a \ in front of the vowel.
