Ràdh na Seachdaine

Unread postby An Gobaire » Sun Jan 17, 2010 1:18 pm

Tha mi an dùil abairt shònraichte Ghàidhlig fhoillseachadh an seo gach seachdain.

I intend to publish a particularly Gaelic expression on here each week.

Bheir mi dhuibh eisimpleirean de chleachdadh cuideachd.
I'll give you examples of its use too.

Mar sin dheth, a' chiad tè.

The first one is
-

Chan ionann gealladh is coileanadh.

MÌNEACHADH/EXPLANATION

Tha seo ag ràdh gu sìmplidh nach eil gealladh is coileanadh san aon rud idir. Mar sin, ged a gheallas neach nitheigin, chan eil e a' ciallachadh mòran gus am bi an gealladh air a thoirt gu buil. *gus an dèan an neach an rud a chaidh a ghealladh.

Chan ionann X agus Y = Chan eil X agus Y co-ionann. = Chan eil X san aon rud ri Y, chan eil Y san aon rud ri X.

gealladh = seòrsa de bhòid a chuireas tu an cèill, ach nach eil mar as trice cho cudromach ri mionnan no bòid, ged a dh'fhaodadh e bhith.

a' coileanadh = a' toirt rudeigin gu buil cheart; a' dèanamh rudeigin

RÀDH BEURLA AS COLTAICHE (a thaobh brìgh) RIS / MOST SIMILAR ENGLISH EXPRESSION TO IT (in meaning)

Promises are easy to make.

Saoilidh mi gum biodh e glè mhath, nan toireadh daoine na ràdhan as aithne dhaibh ann an cànanan eile a tha co-ionann ri gach ràdh Gàidhlig a chuireas mi a-steach gach seachdain.

Chì sibh gu bheil mi air an ràdh coltach a chur ris a' bhrath seo ann am Frangais 's ann am Beurla, mar sin bhiodh e glè mhath cànanan eile fhaighinn leithid Gearmailtis, Spàintis 's mar sin sìos is suas!

Chan ann an aon rud gu tur, ach coltach ris sa Ghearmailtis:

Es ist nicht alles Gold, was glänzt

Chan e òr a th' anns a h-uile rud a bhoillsgeadh. Tha seo a' ciallachadh cuideachd nach eil a h-uile rud cho math mar a tha e coltach an toiseach.

Tha Worten müssen Taten folgen nas dlùithe air, "feumaidh gnìomhan leantainn ri faclan".

Chan eil sin cho coltach ris an abairt Ghàidhlig, ach taing co-dhiù.

'S e "'S iomadh rud buidhe nach òr" a' Ghàidhlig a tha air "Es ist nicht alles Gold, was glanzt".

Mòran taing, cuiridh mi sin ris a'bhrath seo shuas. Ach, nach eil seo nas coltaiche ri "'S e am beul a labhras, ach an gnìomh a dhearbhas" ?
