Re: Hi!

Taic is fantastic for grammar, listen to Radio Nan Gàidheal and BBC Alba, and there are plenty of facebook groups that you can post whatever you'd like in. There are also skype groups and individuals (like me) who would be willing to type-chat or skype, whenever, really.

"why"

Ciamar a chanainn "why" gu ceart, ann an suidheachaidhean coltach ri "that's why....". Chì mi "carson" mar a bhiodh freagarrach anns a' Bheurla, ach shaoil leam gur e beurlachas a bh' ann a sin. Chunnaic mi seantansan cuideachd anns an deach "adhbhar" a chleac...

Article "n"

Do the final "n"s in the article blend into the next word as dark/palatized version of themselves, or do they stay as weak "n"s? For example, is the "n" in "fon" in "fon fhòid" dark or weak? And is the "n" in "san" in "san ia...

"Tha cuideigin feumach air ar cuideachadh"

"Tha cuideigin feumach air ar cuideachad" Tha mi air seo chluinntinn anns a' chartùn Robin Hood, 's an caractar a' ciallachadh "Someone needs our help". Ach, nach biodh "ar" na cuspair dìreach, nuair a tha e ceangailte ri ainmear gnìomhaireach? An e beurlachas a th' ann...

Re: Gàidhlig na h-Èirinn

Tapadh leat. A bheil seòrsa "Akerbeltz" aca ann an Gàidhlig na h-Èirinn, a mhinicheas am fuaimneachadh?

Gàidhlig na h-Èirinn

Tha fhios gu bheil Gàidhlig na h-Alba 's Gàidhlig na h-Èirinn ceangailte gu math teann, agus a-nis leis mar a tha mo chuid Ghàidhlig aig ìre caran nas àirde, agus 's urrainn dhomh Gàidhlig a thuigsinn 's a bhruidhinn gun chus feuchainn, smaointich mi gum bu chòir dhomh cur romham Gàidhlig na h-Èirin...

Re: Grammar check

Chanainn-sa "anns a' Ghàidhlig" ach a dh'aindeoin sin, tha "aig am biodh" ceart gu leòr. Bu chòir dhut am foirm dependent a chleachdadh mar sin.

Prepositions

'S dòcha gur e rud gu math sìmplidh a th' ann, ach a bheil fios aig duine càit' am faigh mi na prepositions còmhla ri na atharrachaidhean do na fuaimean às an dèidh? Gun article, tha mi a' ciallachadh.

Dè am facal Gàidhlig as fheàrr leat?

Re: Mo Sgrìobhaidhean

I recommend you wait for someone more experienced, but... " pròiseasadh cànan nàdarra " -> "pròiseadh chànan nàdarra" It would be a plural genitive that way. I don't know if you can do what you did, grammatically. " Bithinn a’ bruidhinn gu bheil " First off, if you were...

Re: Indirect relative of "is" ?

I was speaking with a native from Skye who pulled a funny face when I said, "'S toil leam leughadh" (or something of the sort) and said she wasn't sure I could say that, or at least that it sounds funny. That "a bhith" should be in there.

Mar ri = còmhla ri, ma-tha? Neo faisg air an aon rud, co-dhiù?

Re: Comparative Verb Clauses

Caiptean - I could be wrong, but I think it's a slightly different format/structure/I'm-not-a-grammarian-I-don't-know-what-it's-called there. I'm thinking "I heard this so often that I don't like it anymore".
