tha mi airson gàidhlig ionnsachadh
Hi everyone!
I've been trying to tr*nsl*t* a speech someone made from English to Gaelic.
If anyone could tr*nsl*t* this...
"First of all welcome to you all tonight.
it's important that we remember that we have
another language and it should be part of
Scotland for years to come."
I would be so, so grateful!
Tapadh leibh

Here's the first line:
Aig toiseach tòiseachaidh, fàilte dhuibh uile a-nochd.

You can try to find all the words here Am Faclair Beag
And then we'll see what to do with them
Please, say if it is too difficult for you, and we'll continue.

By the way, what is this "other language" mentioned in the quote? Is it English? The first line looks reasonable - not quite sure about "aig toiseach tòiseachaidh" - just something about it strikes me as a little unnatural, can't quite put my finger on what.

I'd stay with just 'An toiseach'. First, first of all, to begin with. 'Fàilte, an toiseach, fàilte oirbh uile.'
'Aig toiseach tòiseachaidh' is a bit too dramatic - it has the idea of going back to basics, first principles, if you are explaining an argument, a historical process, a complicated story etc.

Yes - you have it there, Gull. "An toiseach" is better (being an abbreviation of "Ann an toiseach")

Thank you everyone! Tapadh leibh!
I translated it word for word so the grammar is absolutely atrocious (sorry for butchering such a beautiful language!)
This is what I have:
An toiseach fàilte sibh a-nochd. Tha cudromach cuimhnich th' againn eile canan agus is gu bheil a pairt Alba airson bhliadhnaichean ri tighinn.
Again, sorry for the grammar agus tapadh leibh!

An toiseach, fàilte oirbh uile a-nochd. The e cudromach gun cuimhich sinn gu bheil cànan eile againn agus gum bu chòir dha a bhith na phàirt na h-Alba airson bhliadhnaichean ri tighinn.
Cànan is one of those words which can be either masculine or feminine so, if you like your languages feminine, then you'll need to change "dha" to "dhi".
And I think some people might prefer "airson bhliadhnaichean a thìde ri tighinn".

You have done quite well, it does take some time to learn the grammar. My first post to a Gaelic forum was a lot worse
Found a little typo in Marc's correction: Tha e cudromach

The English was translated from this - at 0:10-0:22 - by someone.
I don't know if the English is actually correct but if someone could write the Gaelic (what he's actually saying) I would be so grateful
