Ùr-nòs -- blatant plug eile.

I've been wracking my brains recently trying to come up with something funny for Christmas. It's not particularly festive, but hey ho. What do you think?

Ma 's math a' chuimhn' 'am,
chan eil mi air òl gu leòr.

not sure if you can use ol in this sense? what about deoch?

ol = the verb instead of deoch = the drink! ;)

chan eil mi air deoch gu leor ag ol?
no
chan eil an deoch orm gu leor?

tha mi a' creidsinn gu bheil "ma 's math mo chuimhne" nas fheàrr na "ma 's math a' chuimhne 'am"

That last one looks OK. I'll have to ponder....

Probably right, and Mark certainly has it the phrase as you put it, but I'm sure I've heard it the other way in the past.

Looking at some of the other bits of Mark, there seems to be a bit of a distinction that I'm missing the subtleties of -- sort of the difference between "memory" and "a memory", and in this case I suppose I'm talking more about "memory" than "a memory", so "mo chuimhne" would certainly be better.

I really should learn some Gaelic.

Nach ròbh thu a bruidhinn mu aon chuimhne direach?
Na rinn thu a-rèir = aon chuimnhe direach mu thachartas direach a thachairt a-rèir nuair a bha thu ag òl.

Mar sin nach bhitheadh "a chuimnhe agam" math gu leòr? Tha sin mar ceart ann an mo bheachd ach gun teagamh tha a Ghàidhlig agam nas miosa na a-huile doaine eile an-seo, mar sin chan fheumaidh tu eisteachd rium!

Ma s'math a chuimhne 'am (mu na rinn mi nuar a bha mi ag òl)
Chan eil mi air òl gu leòr.
