The modern ‘Book of Kells’ goes on Canadian tour

The 21st century ‘Book of Kells’ - An Leabhar Mor (The Great Book of Gaelic) - is set for a Canadian tour starting in October and supported by funds from the Scottish Government.
Politicians are backing the cultural progress of an exhibition based on the book to the tune of £15,000. The first Canadian stop will see the exhibition open at Cape Breton University on October 15th as part of its ‘Celtic Colours’ celebrations.
The announcement of support for the tour was made when the Minister for Culture, Michael Russell was addressing the ‘Islands Emigrants’ conference in Leverburgh, Harris at the weekend....
...............The Canadian tour is just one of many ways the An Leabhar Mor project has been presented to the public the book has also toured 45 venues in Scotland and Ireland as well being the basis of a CD of songs, BBC film, DVD, and several radio series, with a supporting education pack and website.
