Tha i fuar ach brèagha sa mhadainn an-diugh.
It's cold but beautiful this morning.

Is that the right way to word that? I saw someone else on this thread using that construction.

Bh' an-dè grianach agus breagha ach beagan fuar.
Yesterday was sunny and beatiful but a little cold

Am I right in thinking that bha would more or less drop the 'a' in speech next to an-?

One of the a's goes in fast speech, not sure which one. It would be written Bha 'n-dè I guess, just like an in the phrase in Tha mi 'n dòchas

Bha a' ghealach glè glè bhreagha a-raoir.
The moon was very very beautiful last night

Is gealach the right word? I looked on http://www.faclair.com but there were more words than just that one for "moon".

Tha tòrr sneachda ann a-rithist. Bha an càr agam cha mhòr falaichte fo shneachd sa mhadainn - obair chruaidh gu dearbh mus b' urrainn dhomh a dhràibheadh!

There's piles of snow again. My car was almost hidden under snow this morning - hard work indeed before I could drive it!

Tha an sneachd ann agus an-seo.
There is snow here too.

Seo mar a bha e an deireadh-seachdaine seo.
This is how it was this weekend.

Tha an sneachd air falbh an-seo. Tha an-diugh fuar is an-dè fuar.
The snow is gone. Today is cold, yesterday was cold.

Is that the right way to use "is", or is my wording awkward?

How would I say "also", as in "yesterday was cold also"?

How would I word "I hope it gets warmer soon"?

I need to work on doing my grammar lessons more frequently...

Tha i fuar an-diugh is bha i fuar an-dè cuideachd.

Tha mi an dòchas gum fàs i nas blàithe a dh'aithghearr

Bha an sneachd 's an reothadh a bh' ann fad àm na Nollaige 's na Bliadhn' Ùir air aiteamh bho chionn greis an seo, ach thàinig e air ais a-rithist bho chionn corra latha.

The snow and the ice that was here all through Christmas and New Year had thawed a while ago, but it came back again a few days ago.

Cha robh uiread de dh'fhuachd ann 's a bh' ann roimhe ge-tà agus leagh e leis an uisge a' bhon-dè.

There wasn't as much cold as previously though, and it melted in the rain the day before yesterday.

Ach seall a-nis, agus an sneachd agus an reothadh air tilleadh aon uair eile! Ach 's coma leam agus teine dian a' dol agam san t-seòmar-suidhe!

But look how the snow and the frost has returned once more! But I don't mind as I have a good fire going in the sitting-room!

Tha i a' cur sneachd a-rithist agus an-seo. Ged a tha e glè bhrèagha, bha na cabhsairean caran cunnartach an-dè.

Over here it's showing again as well. Although it is very beautiful, the sidewalks were quite dangerous yesterday.

Bha i uabhasach fhuar an-diugh agus tha mi glè fhuar mi fhein a-nis, ach is toigh leam an geamhradh! Bha mi sgitheadh ann an Alba!

It was terribly cold today and I am very cold myself now, but I like winter! I was skiing in Scotland!

As ever feel free to correct!
