No, it's not a wind-up. I have to study a language and I chose Gaelic ... And, for french people, well maybe just me
, it's very difficult to pronounce gaelic without IPA tr*nsl*t**n because the writing does not correspond to the prononciation ... again, for french-native-speaking-people.

Regular is better dans mon livre à moi....that way once you've got it, you've got it. Unlike in English where you'll hit far more random exceptions. I actually find French to be far more regular than English, even though it has more silent letters those silent letters are easy to predict.
