Halo, 'S mise Ailean agus tha mi a' fuireach ann an Devon. Tha mi a' ionnsachadh Gaidhlig mu da mios, an deidh latha-saor gle mhath anns an Eilean Hearadh agus Leodhas. Tha mi tri fichead 's a sia-deug bliadhna a dh'aois -- aosta airson ionnsachadh Gaidhlig. Tha mi a' smaoineachadh nach eil seo Gaidhlig math. Tha ceantachadh failte!

Fàilte gu dearbh, Ailein!

Tha sinn glè thoilichte d' fhaicinn an seo! :D
Tha sinn toilichte mu dhuine sam bith a tha ag ionnsachadh Gàidhlig!

Tha thu ann an Devon - tha sin inntinneach! Tha Devon brèagha cuideachd.

Tha sinn an dochas gum bi thu a' sgrìobhadh air an fhòram gu trice - tha luchd-tòiseachaidh eile ann, agus tha cothroman dà-chànanach gu leòr ann. Tha sinn toilichte a bhith a' cuideachadh.

Tha thu a' dèanamh glè mhath mar-thà!

Welcome indeed, Alan - we're very happy to see you here! :D
We're happy about anyone who's learning Gaelic.
You're in Devon - that's interesting. Devon is lovely too.
We hope that you'll be writing on the forum often - there are other beginners here, and enough bilingual opportunities.
We're happy to help.
You're doing very well already!

Beagan ceartachaidh:
Tha mi a' ionnsachadh Gaidhlig mu da mios, an deidh latha-saor gle mhath anns an Eilean Hearadh agus Leodhas. Tha mi tri fichead 's a sia-deug bliadhna a dh'aois -- aosta airson ionnsachadh Gaidhlig. Tha mi a' smaoineachadh nach eil seo Gaidhlig math. Tha ceantachadh failte!

..ag ionnsachadh ('ag' before vowels)

dà mhìos - dà lenites the next word.

an dèidh làithean-saora (holiday/s = 'free days')...

..Gàidhlig mhath (languages are feminine)

Typo: ceartachadh = correction (from 'ceart' = right)

If you want to have a go at putting in the accents, here's the thread to tell you how:

...mu da mios...
'S e "mu dha mhìos" (lenition after "mu"), nach e?

Well Alan, I guess you will be pleased to know that I understood what you wrote :L.

's e mise Seumas. Tha mi naoi deug bliadhna a dh' aois agus tha mi ag ionsachadh Gàidhlig cuideachd. Tha mi nam olieanach aig an olithigh Obar Dheathain, a' dèanamh Gàidhlig agus Eachdraidh (rinn mi Celtis agus Archaeology ann sa bhliadhna seo chaidh). Cha do thoseach mi Gàidhlig ach sa bhliadhna seo chaidh cuideachd, cho dean mi mearachdan fad an t-àm :L.

I am James/Jamie. I'm 19 and I am also learning Gaelic. I am a student at the University of Aberdeen, doing Gaelic and History (I did Celtic and Archaeology last year). Also, I only started Gaelic last year, so I make mistakes all the time :L.
