Fàilte, Ed!
Ciamar a tha thu?
Welcome, Ed. How are you?
Great that you want to learn Gaelic - lots of non-Scots on here, all making progress at their own rate, usually having fun, and doing their bit for the language !
If you can't attend a course of some sort where you are, there are lots of resources online, and books with CDs etc.
Help locating courses:
http://www.learngaelic.net/fios/
Online: a lot of people find the BBC course 'Beag air Bheag' (Little by little) a good place to start:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/alba/foghlam/beag_air_bheag/
Lots of links on this board too:

We're happy to help learners, so get started and post even tiny attempts, and questions etc, in the bilingual section!
Gur math a thèid leat!
Good luck!

Fàilte!
Learning Gaelic is a fun and intriguing process. I've been tackling it for a month or two now and each day I'm learning something new.
What has drawn you to learning Gaelic, my friend?
If you want to try some of the grammar,
http://www.taic.me.uk is a great place to start.
Good luck!

Fàilte!
I'll second faoileag's link to BBC Alba Beag Air Bheag. A fun way to start learning Gaelic is the "Learn a Gaelic song" section. That way you start getting used to how the language sounds, and it's easier to remember phrases when they're to a tune.

Check your language settings, if it's on English try pressing ctrl + shift at the same instance. Try again after that. Did that do it for you?

If you are on a computer where you can't change the settings, use the "Ω" button on top for clickable letters.
