Faclan neònach

Unread post by akerbeltz » Thu Dec 15, 2011 1:40 pm

Liosta de dh'fhaclan neònach a lorg mi ann an diofar àitichean ach chan eil a' dèanamh cus ciall (fiù ma bha eadar-theangachadh ann san tùs) agus chan eil mi deònach an cur san Fhaclair Bheag fhathast mar sin. Ma tha fiosrachadh agaibh, bhithinn fada 'nur comain ach tha e cgl mur eil, 's e "liosta obrach" dhomh fhìn a th' ann sa chiad dol a-mach.

sòirne thieving - Tha am facal sorner ann am Beurla Gallda. Tha sin a' ciallachadh duine a tha a' gabhail bracaist 's leabaidh no aoigheachd agus easan a' bagairt fhòirneirt.
Bha bàs na pheanas o chionn fhada.
'S docha gu bheil ceangal eadarainn.

@Akerbeltz
Mhothaich mi an-dràsda gu bheil na facalan à leabhar "Bho na h-Innse Gall as Iomallaiche". Bha fear de na h-ùghdairean, Aonghas Iain MacDhòmhnaill, an tidsear Ghàidhlig agam agus caraid aig m'athair ann an Astràlia nuair nach robh mi ach deich bliadhna a dh'aois. Bha iad na chiad leasanan agam 'sa chànan. Chaidh leabhar a sgriobhadh mu dheidhinn, The Last Seanchaidh le John Douglas Pringle. Tha leth-breac agam mar PDF. A bheil thu ag iarraidh leth-bhreac, no duine eile ?

Tha mi direach air fhaicinn facal neònach ann an leabhar o 1785: "lamhghar" agus shaoilinn gur e "miotag" a tha an ciall dha (faic "gar" san AFB). "Laimhsich do bhuill acfuin lamhruisgte, Cha ghlac cat le lamhghar luchaibh, mar deir Eoghan Tiarmail."

'S e "An t-Slighe chum Sai'bhris" a th'air - The Way to Wealth 'sa Bheurla. Sgriobh Ben Franklin an leabhran seo ann an 1758, agus chuir R. MacPharlain (fear gu math ainmeil, ma's math mo chuihmne) a' Ghàidhlig air ann an 1785 air iarrtas an Iarla Buchan (a réir Wikipedia, "a notable Scottish eccentric").

Tha an leabhran inntinneach cuideachd air sgath litricheadh fogharach a th'aige. Sgriobh MacPharlain "beannuighe" airson beannaichidh agus "maighistir" airson maighstir. Theagamh gu bheil seo litricheadh fogharach, co-dhiu.

An ann à Earra Ghàidheal a bha MacPharlain? 'S e fear de na diofaran móra eadar Gàidhlig na h-Alba agus na d-Éirinn a th' ann an -ch/-dh aig deireadh facail. (Sin a' tighinn bho na seann tusailean.) Ann an Ìle, theirear "balaigh" airson "balaich" agus a leithid.

Tha an liosta seo gu math sean, ach "Bucach" san liosta Leòdhasach, 's e cuideigin à Buckie a th' ann, 's chan e dìreach "Lowlander". Baile iasgaich a th' ann am Buckie air costa a tuath Mhoireibh. Tha mi cinnteach gun d'fhuair thu a-mach sin mar-thà ge-tà!!

Chan eil e sean, tha mi cur ris fad na h-ùine ach tha sealltainn an latha a chaidh a chruthachadh :/

Lorg mi Bucach 'pertaining to Buckie' ach cha robh mi cinnteach a thaobh an 'lowlander' ... cuiridh mi Bucach ris mar 'neach à Buckie' cuideachd, mòran taing!
